Dear Readers,
In this issue of the Journal, I would like to introduce a new feature to the Journal called "Interview with the Experts Section." Each month, I will interview one of the "Rock Stars of EP". These interviews will be different that what you might typically see. Our goal is to try and better understand them, their past, their hobbies, and what motivates them to get out of bed each morning and do what they do.
To start this off, I could think of no one better than my good friend, Dr. Sam Asirvatham from the Mayo Clinic. We have all heard Sam lecture many times over the years. He clearly has one of the brightest minds and has been so incredibly successful in his EP career.
You will learn many fascinating things about him in this article. For example, did you know that Dr. Asirvatham was once a professional chess player in India and used to play chess blindfolded against multiple opponents in order to help raise money for his hospital in India. I encourage you to read about this and much more from my interview with Sam.
Please drop me a line and let me know your thoughts on this new section of the Journal.
Warm regards,
John D. Day, MD, FHRS, FACC
