Fluoro Reduction in EP Lab Council
About the Fluoro Reduction in the EP Lab Council
As fluoroscopy exposure to patient, operator, and staff is both a safety and ethical issue; it is vital for the electrophysiology clinician community to have access to state-of-the-art solutions that reduce or eliminate fluoroscopy levels in clinical practice, which is a principle tenet of the Council.
The Council, led by the Chairs, Paul C. Zei, MD, PhD, Director of Comprehensive Atrial Fibrillation Program at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Mansour Razminia, MD, Director of Cardiac Electrophysiology Amita St Joseph Hospital, is comprised of world-renowned physicians and leading Industry partners who are dedicated to supporting the mission of the Council.
The Council’s mission is to identify existing practice gaps and unmet needs as it relates to best practices for minimizing or eliminating radiation in the modern electrophysiology lab, and to support policy, enact initiatives and develop educational programming that bridges existing knowledge gaps, and fulfils unmet clinical needs.
The Council is committed to serving as a strong advocate for policy, guidelines, and procedural strategies that successfully decrease or eliminate fluoroscopy use within daily clinical practice.
